My Story

From Engineering to Design

I studied engineering like most kids in India (talk about peer pressure 😮‍💨) but always had an inclination for art growing up. I would spend hours sketching and refining my skills.

So decided to a take leap of faith and choose design as a career. Learned the basics of design by spending hours reading blogs, following design tutorials, and breaking down and studying great design.

*Started posting my work online so that I can put those design tutorials into practice. Also, I watched a lot of Gary Vee back in the day 🤭*. That’s how I got my first design gig, and may more in down the line. So it works.

Founding Designer at Flunkey

• Quickly learned the difference between B2B and B2C products, how to design for different personas, and how to approach end-to-end product design.
• Did everything from branding to designing end-to-end experiences.
• I made a ton of mistakes, but more importantly learned a lot.

Was offered equity, a future move to Singapore, and a sign-in for 4 years. But wasn’t sure about working in the food-tech so decided to find something more impactful.

First design hire at PocketBits

India’s oldest cryptocurrency exchange.

• Helped redesign their entire web experience with over 130k users and ₹3B+ trading volume.
• Designed the mobile experience from scratch, and designed 2 new CeFi apps.
• Went from being a solo designer to building and leading a 4 member full-stack design team.
